lakersSUMMERLEAGUEEarlier this month, there were reports saying that five teams would be wearing the sleeved jerseys that the Golden State Warriors wore for the first time last season with a few other teams wearing the sleeved jerseys at least once during the Christmas and St. Patrick’s Day games.

The evidence suggested that the Lakers would be one of the teams wearing them at least once as they’re perennially one of the teams playing in a Christmas Day game, but it was unclear whether or not they would be one of the five teams wearing the sleeved jerseys more than once. According to Dave McMenamin, they will wear them in “several games next season.”

This news comes on the heels of the news that ESPN voting the Lakers jerseys as the second best in the NBA. The Lakers classical jerseys have been some of the best in the NBA over the years, and the addition of their Sunday Whites was a nice addition to their purple and gold unis. The addition of the sleeved jerseys are like an unwelcomed one by the players, but with Adidas contracted with the NBA through the 2016-17 season, they’ll be looking to capitalize off the marquee teams in the NBA.

The Lakers were one of the Summer League teams to wear the sleeved jerseys provided by Adidas and now will be one of the teams during the regular season to wear the sleeved alternates, and it could be for up to 12 games this season.
