The Los Angeles Lakers hoped to bounce back from their troubling loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves in a Tuesday night game against the Brooklyn Nets at the STAPLES Center. Most pundits predicted that the Nets and the Lakers would be the two worst teams in the league this season, but both clubs have been surprisingly solid thus far.
With a tough stretch of games against contenders coming up, the young Lakers badly needed a win in order to keep their spirits high. Fortunately, strong performances from Julius Randle and D’Angelo Russell helped carry them, and Los Angeles prevailed, 125-118.
