The Los Angeles Lakers head into Sunday night’s matchup with the Charlotte Hornets hoping to avoiding tying the franchise-worst losing streak of 10 games. Los Angeles has struggled greatly during this stretch, and have lost seven of their last nine by double digits.
Kobe Bryant will play despite a sore shoulder, but excelling rookie Larry Nance Jr. will be out with a sore knee. The Hornets just got small forward Michael Kidd-Gilchrist back from shoulder surgery that had kept him out all season, although swingman Nicolas Batum will be out of action due to an injured toe. With the Hornets in a state of transition as they integrate Kidd-Gilchrist as well as adjust to the absence of Batum, the Lakers will hope to take advantage and snap their losing streak.
