The Los Angeles Lakers will take on the New Orleans Pelicans in their first game as part of the Las Vegas Summer League, pitting number two overall pick Brandon Ingram against number six pick Buddy Hield. The number 32 pick, Ivica Zubac, will also be in action for the Lakers, while the 33rd pick, Cheick Diallo, will play for the Pelicans.

The Lakers will also feature point guard D’Angelo Russell, who has established himself as a leader on this year’s squad. Forwards Anthony Brown and Larry Nance Jr. will be making their second consecutive Summer League appearances.

While wins are always nice, the Lakers will be primarily focusing on running some of the offensive sets they installed in limited practice time and get a look at some of their young players in game action.
