Despite a career-high 44 points from Lou Williams and four competitive quarters of action, the Los Angeles Lakers dropped 117-114 to the Oklahoma City Thunder on Friday night at Staples Center. Williams scored 23 of his points in the final quarter and 15 from the charity stripe, becoming the first Laker to score 40+ points in a game since Kobe Bryant scored 44 against the Golden State Warriors on November 16, 2014.

D’Angelo Russell attempted to play through a sprained ankle, but exited the game after eight minutes of action and taken back to the locker room. Head coach Byron Scott said after the game that he was proud of Russell for attempting to play through. Scott said he was also proud of the entire team and their will to fight through in the past couple games.

Bryant discusses his battles with Kevin Durant and the respect he has for Russell Westbrook. Plus, Bryant explains whether losing has the same affect on him as it once did. It’s all in our postgame videos below.
