DeMarcus Cousins (36 points, 16 boards) and Rajon Rondo (17 assists, 11 points) were simply too much for the Los Angeles Lakers Wednesday night, losing their third straight game to the Sacramento Kings, 112-93. Brandon Bass did have his best game in a Laker uniform, finishing with a season-high 18 points on 7-12 shooting with three blocked shots and seven boards.
Kobe Bryant finished with 15 points (4-13) and played 31 minutes in the Lakers loss, but said after the game that health wise, he felt pretty good. Bryant also comments on the progress of the young Lakers core, one of which was D’Angelo Russell, who had 14 points and five assists in his 26 minutes.
Julius Randle led the Lakers in rebounding for the 34th time this season, and his 12 boards were the 23rd time he’s had 10+ rebounds in a game this year. Bass talks about Randle’s development and the messages he’s trying to pass along to the young forward.
Despite the loss, the Lakers Youth Foundation donated $9,000 to Make-A-Wish of Greater Los Angeles, after pledging $1,000 for every dunk thrown down by a member of the purple and gold. Check out all of our post-game interviews below.
