Los Angeles Lakers legend Magic Johnson has plenty to be happy about nowadays as several of the teams he is a minority owner of are in the hunt for championships.

Johnson, like the rest of Los Angeles, has been locked in on the 2025 MLB Playoffs where the Los Angeles Dodgers have been steamrolling the competition.

The Dodgers were able to beat the Cincinnati Reds in the Wild Card Round before playing the Philadelphia Phillies in the National League Divisional Series. The Dodgers emerged victorious and Johnson congratulated the team on clinching the NLDS title.

The Dodgers continued their postseason domination, sweeping the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series and advancing to the World Series. Johnson made sure to congratulate his team and also marveled at the greatness of Shohei Ohtani, via his personal X account:

The Dodgers’ starting pitching was the talk of the series as Blake Snell, Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Tyler Glasnow and Ohtani all delivered masterful performances. Ohtani closed out Game 4, pitching 6.0 innings and striking out 10 batters without giving up a run. He also supplied three home runs in what might be considered the greatest individual playoff performance of all time.

While the Dodgers will be favored in the World Series, the Los Angeles Lakers will be looking to make their own mark during the 2025-26 season. Los Angeles and Johnson have to feel blessed to have sports franchises worth rooting for.
