Los Angeles Lakers forward Josh McRoberts will get a chance to play his former team tonight, the Indiana Pacers, and he is determined to send them off with a loss. Los Angeles Times’ Mark Medina writes that McRoberts has some mixed feelings when looking back at his years in Indiana and that adds extra weight to this game for him.

“They [the Pacers] tried trading me at the deadline and they didn’t get it done,” McRoberts said. “They told me they were going to try to bring me back this summer, but they didn’t call and try to bring me back. It ended in a bad way, in my opinion, but I’ll always be thankful for the way it started and the time that I spent there.”

It is always special for players to go up against their former team, and it is no different for McRoberts. Although the opening minutes will be emotional for McRoberts, he will eventually settle down and play his game.

The Lakers need a better effort from their bench, and if McRoberts plays efficiently, the Lakers are a tough team to beat.  The Lakers are currently on a two-game losing streak, so they need a win tonight to back their confidence. The Pacers are a surprise so far this season with a 10-4 record, so beating Indiana would surely please the now Los Angeles Laker.
