One of the people Kupchak challenged, former Lakers General Manager and current consultant for the Golden State Warriors, Jerry West accepted the challenge himself, via the Golden State Warriors:

Kupchak also challenged Lakers owner Jim Buss, as well as the most famous fan in the world, Jack Nicholson, but neither has accepted as of yet.

As of August 20, the ALS has received $31.5 million in donations as opposed to $1.9 million at this point last year, so the challenge is definitely having a positive effect.
