Before Brown joined the Lakers, he ran the sidelines for the Cleveland Cavaliers and guided the team to an NBA Finals appearance. Brown did a great job coaching in Cleveland, but the franchise wanted to go in a new direction.

The Lakers brought in Brown to replace the great Phil Jackson, and the pressure of coaching in Los Angeles proved to be too much for Brown. Now Mike Brown is without a job, but according to ESPN, the Cleveland Cavaliers are looking to bring back their former coach.

With Scott out, there is mutual interest between Brown and the Cavaliers for a possible reunion, according to multiple league sources.

The Cavaliers recently let go of former Lakers player Byron Scott as their head coach and there is a chance they offer Brown a spot. However, at this point it is up to Brown to decide if he wants to return to coaching. He has stated before that he would like to spend more time with his family and he is still going to be paid the remaining $8 million from the Lakers’ contract.
