USA Today writes that the Celtics were asking for too much, and as a result the Clippers have decided to call off the trade. Boston was trying to get the Clippers to include promising guard Eric Bledsoe in the deal, but Los Angeles has insisted that Bledsoe will not be heading over to the Celtics.

The Los Angeles Clippers have ended negotiations that would have netted them Boston Celtics coach Doc Rivers and forward Kevin Garnett, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.

The person spoke to USA TODAY Sports on the condition of anonymity because of the private nature of the talks.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge had offered an alternative to not dealing Bledsoe and insisted that the Clippers take on either Jason Terry or Courtney Lee’s bad contract. However, the Clippers reportedly got “cold feet” on the financial aspects of the deal and refused to give the Celtics and additional first round pick.

This was a very interesting and complicated situation that definitely would have changed the culture of both organizations. For the latest head over to Sports City.
