The Dwight Howard trade drama has affected many people and teams. Rumors have been surfacing for several months now, but unfortunately, nothing has happened. One second Howard is expected to remain in Orlando and the other second he is on the verge of being traded. All this talk has gotten very frustrating and NBA Commissioner David Stern gave his opinion on what the media calls the “Dwightmare.”

There have always been reported leaks in the Howard situation, and people are constantly trying to change the headlines. A myriad of times, news breaks that someone close to the situation has an inside scoop on the story, but so far every time something pops up, Howard has not been dealt.

Commissioner Stern is not a fan of all the leaks in this Howard extravaganza and he puts the blame on Howard’s agent for feeding the media, USA Today.

“It’s very unique, especially if it’s driven by a quote source that happens to be Dwight’s agent,” Stern told USA TODAY Sports in a telephone interview. ” ‘A source in the meeting. Oh, OK, who might that be?”

The Los Angeles Lakers have been heavily involved in the Dwight Howard sweepstakes and there is no question they are trying to land him. There have been many names spewed out there during these trade talks, but so far nothing has happened. Los Angeles is thrown in and out of the discussions and it is unclear where it falls in Howard’s list of top destinations.

This summer, the Lakers have been both the favorites to land the superstar center and other times it has been reported that the Lakers have fallen out of contention to acquire him. The “Dwightmare” has not only affected the Orlando Magic, it has also held other franchises in hostage.

The Lakers must now decide to either push harder to get Howard, or settle with their current roster and prepare for the 2012-13 season. Everyone wants these trade rumors to end so the entire league can escape this long-lasting national drama.
