The Golden State Warriors have already spent a significant amount of money in the early stages of free agency. They locked up Stephen Curry to the richest contract in NBA history a five-year deal worth $201 million dollars and also re-signed key players in Shaun Livingston, Andre Igoudala, and David West.
The team was able to re-sign their most of their free agents because Kevin Durant was willing to take a significant pay cut to make sure his teammates got contracts they deserved. The Warriors front office and players have made it known that they would like to keep their core intact and continue their success.
The Warriors are prefect team for veteran players who are looking for a chance to win a championship. Players like West and Javale McGee were rewarded this past season by joining the already loaded Warriors. Now it looks like newly named Defensive Player of the Year, Draymond Green, is recruiting more veterans to join the Warriors. A chance to join the best team is basketball is a very enticing opportunity for a player like Young. He has spent the past few seasons on a rebuilding Lakers team and has said that he would like to experience the playoffs again.
He reinvigorated his play year under Luke Walton and averaged 13.2 points and 2.4 rebounds per game. He shot 43 percent from the field, including an impressive 40.4 percent from behind the arc.
Young would definitely give the Warriors another shooter and capable wing defender, though there could be some questions about playing time. With Iguodala and Livingston both returning and Patrick McCaw getting big minutes in the NBA Finals, the Warriors are loaded on the wing and Young couldfind it difficult to see consistent court time.
