The Charlotte Hornets are currently the seventh seed in the Eastern Conference and after losing Kemba Walker for at least six weeks with a torn meniscus, the franchise has acquired Mo Williams from the Minnesota Timberwolves according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

With the return of Ricky Rubio from injury and the development of Zach LaVine, Williams was expendable and will provide the Hornets with much-needed help in the backcourt. Without Walker, the Hornets were forced to play Lance Stephenson at point guard, who has had difficulties fitting in with his new team.
For the Hornets, there were high expectations after making the playoffs last season with a core of Walker and Al Jefferson to go along with their young prospects. With the signing of Stephenson, the Hornets were expected to be one of the top teams in the Eastern Conference, but have struggled with injuries this season.
