Earlier this week, rumors surfaced that ex-Lakers forward Lamar Odom was abusing recreational drugs, but there was nothing in the reports saying what the drug of choice was. New rumors have come suggesting that Odom is using either crack cocaine or OxyContin.

TMZ had the original report about Odom’s drug use, and their follow up says that Odom is using crack cocaine.

[…] As we reported Lamar went to a rehab facility a year ago this month and stayed for 3 weeks before bailing — and we’re told the problem was crack.

Sources say Lamar’s crack use was extreme before he went to rehab, but he cleaned up his act during the basketball season that just ended.  Sources say shortly after he hung up his jersey, he started again with a bang.

However, celebrity news site Radar is saying that it isn’t crack that Odom is on, but rather OxyContin.

Kardashian family members fear Lamar Odom is hooked on the drugs OxyContin and Ambien, RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned.

Multiple sources familiar with the situation claim Odom, 33, has had a drug problem for the past two years and even went to rehab last August under pressure from the Kardashian clan.

OxyContin is a synthetic form of the painkiller morphine, but it’s twice as strong. It’s sold in tablets and is prescription only.

According to Radar’s report, Odom has lost a lot of weight and is refusing to go into rehab because NBA training camps are around the corner.

It should be noted that the sources for both reports are someone “close to the situation” with no hard evidence of Odom actually using either crack cocaine or OxyContin.
