The most recent news to come out of Jackson’s camp is the former head coach helping the Detroit Pistons with their coaching search according to Keith Langlois of NBA.com:

Tom Gores’ vow to use every available resource to restore the Pistons to greatness has led him to Phil Jackson, who has agreed to serve in an advisory capacity in the franchise’s search for a head coach.

Recently, Jackson was linked with the Toronto Raptors. Toronto wants Jackson to take over as president of basketball operations and are apparently going all out to make it happen. Jackson has shown interest in taking a role in the front office for an NBA team and the opportunity in Toronto may be ideal.

It remains to be seen how much interest Jackson has in the Raptors position, but he’ll be helping the Pistons in the meantime.

Detroit recently parted ways with Lawrence Frank after the two seasons with the team.

Along with helping the Pistons with their coaching search and considering the Raptors’ offer, Jackson will also be promoting his new book, “Eleven Rings,” on June 12 talk about his latest memoir.
