NBA Rookie Rankings: Dario Saric, Malcolm Brogdon In Battle As Season Comes To A Close

Welcome back to our weekly rookie rankings. It’s gearing down towards the end of the season and it has become very clear who this year’s top rookies are. They have one last push to make a good impression to voters. Remember to check back with us every week as when rank this year’s rookie class.

1. Dario Saric, Forward, Philadelphia 76ers

Saric’s Rookie of the Year momentum continues to grow with each passing game. On the season he is averaging 12.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game. His unique set of skills makes him a special player that can do many things well on the court. He scored scored in double digits from Feb. 8 to March 24, which is the third longest streak of double figure scoring in team history among rookies.

2. Malcolm Brogdon, Guard, Milwaukee Bucks

If it wasn’t for Saric, Brogdon would be the Eastern Conference rookie for the month of March. He averaged 12.5 points on 49.3 percent shooting during that span. With the Bucks fighting for their playoff lives every game, the play of Brogdon is very important for the Bucks success. He has turned into a very nice player that looks to have a promising future.

3. Joel Embiid, Center, Philadelphia 76ers

The Sixers announced last week that he would resume basketball activities in the summer. The team will be cautious about bringing Embiid back to early, but the sooner he is back on the court the better it is for the Sixers. He brings a style of play that is exciting and makes the players around him better.

4. Marquese Chriss, Forward, Phoenix Suns

Chriss also had a solid month of March. He averaged 13.1 points and 5.8 rebounds per game. He ranks in the top-five in rebounds, steals, and blocks among all rookies. If he finishes the season well scoring the ball he has a shot at landing in the top-five in that category to. He is an exciting player that brings a lot of athleticism and energy when he is on the floor.

5. Brandon Ingram, Forward, Los Angeles Lakers

After missing three games due to knee tendinitis, Ingram rebounded with two straight double-digit scoring games last week. He had 18 points, five rebounds, and three assists last Saturday against the Los Angeles Clippers. He has steadily gotten better as the season has progressed, which has Lakers fans excited for the future.

Honorable Mention: Willy Hernangomez, Jamal Murray, Buddy Hield
