The Sacramento Kings are turning over a new leaf by bringing in a proven head coach in George Karl. Although the Kings are seemingly taking a step in the right direction, the consensus seems to be Karl and DeMarcus Cousins eventually won’t see eye-to-eye.

With Cousins potentially not being a star player that’ll work well with Coach Karl, the trade calls appear to be coming in to gauge Sacramento’s willingness to trade the All-Star.

According to Sam Smith of Bulls.com, the Boston Celtics and Milwaukee Bucks have shown interest in acquiring Cousins:

The Celtics have been most rumored chasing big men and the Bucks are said to be interested as well. Another Celtics’ big man rumor floating around during All-Star weekend has been their pursuit of All-Star DeMarcus Cousins. There is no indication he’s available from the team, but the speculation has been he and George Karl won’t work together and Karl wants to play faster without a low post center. So Boston is rumored to give it a try.

With the Celtics making moves all season long signaling an extensive rebuilding process, the team pursuing Cousins is surprising. GM Danny Ainge has been getting as many draft picks as possible for his star players like Rajon Rondo and Jeff Green.

Ainge would almost certainly have to sacrifice a bulk of his draft picks to land Cousins, but it hard argue it wouldn’t be the right move. Boston has also expressed interest in Ty Lawson of the Denver Nuggets with the NBA trade deadline drawing near.

Although it appeared as though the Celtics wanted to rebuild in the draft over the next few years, the team might be using their draft picks to land proven players like Cousins and Lawson.
