The Golden State Warriors have transformed from a talented young playoff team to a legitimate title contender this season. All the pieces are coming together in the Bay Area with MVP candidate Stephen Curry leading the way.

Along with Curry turning into a superstar and Klay Thompson quickly making a name for himself as an All-Star, the Warriors are arguably the team to beat in the Western Conference. Although the team’s two star players are all anyone can talk about, Draymond Green has played a considerable role in the team’s success.

This summer, Green will be a restricted free agent with no shortage of suitors ready to give him an offer sheet to sign. One team that might be the most likely to pry him away from Golden State is the Detroit Pistons, according to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports:

In a looming restricted free agency this summer, Golden State’s Draymond Green has a significant interest with pursuing an offer sheet with his hometown Detroit Pistons, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

In 51 games this season with the Warriors, Green is averaging a career-high 11.1 points, 8.3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game. Green is also shooting a career-best 43.2 percent from the floor and 33 percent from beyond the arc.

Green will be one of a few restricted free agents expected to draw a lot of interest this summer. Jimmy Butler, Brandon Knight, Tobias Harris, Kawhi Leonard and Reggie Jackson are also on the list.

Although Green is a promising young player with a potentially bright future, the Warriors might not be inclined to match a lucrative offer sheet from a team like the Pistons.
