Much of the focus of free agency has been on big men with players like LaMarcus Aldridge, DeAndre Jordan, and Greg Monroe leading the way. When it comes to point guards, however, Goran Dragic was looked at as the cream of the crop.

The Miami Heat made sure Dragic wasn’t going anywhere as they agreed to a five-year, $90 million deal to keep him in Miami according to Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski:

Goran Dragic has reached agreement on a five-year, $90 million contract with the Miami Heat, league sources told Yahoo Sports.

The Heat acquired Dragic at the trade deadline as they looked to become a major factor in the Eastern Conference. A heart condition that sidelined Chris Bosh ruined those hopes, however. With Dragic now back in the fold for the long-term, the Heat will likely look towards making sure Dwyane Wade returns as well.

Wade and the Heat have come to an impasse in their contract discussions. Wade has decided to opt-out of his deal in hopes of securing a long-term deal for major money and the Lakers reportedly have interest in him, though most expect Wade and the Heat to come to some sort of an agreement.

At one point, Dragic looked to be a target for the Los Angeles Lakers, but the team was unable to swing a deal at the deadline. In 26 games with the Heat last year, Dragic averaged 16.6 points and 5.3 assists while shooting over 50 percent from the field.
