The Sacramento Kings are the latest team rumored to be interested in trading for superstar forward Kevin Love. Not only are the Kings supposedly interested in pulling off a blockbuster for the perennial All-Star, but they are willing to make a deal with no guarantee Love re-signs with the team, according to Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports:

The Sacramento Kings have let the Minnesota Timberwolves know they are interested in trading for All-Star forward Kevin Love – and the Kings would make a deal without any assurance from Love he’d re-sign with them, a league source told Yahoo Sports.

Sacramento will be one of many teams that will have attractive trade pieces to land Love. Although not a destination mentioned as a preference of Love, Sacramento’s willingness to get a deal done without assurances makes things interesting moving forward.

The Kings weren’t the only team rumored to show interest in the three-time All-Star during the holiday weekend with the Washington Wizards also a possible candidate to make a deal for Love.

Over the past few months, Love has been linked with the Los Angeles Lakers on more than one occasion. Unfortunately, the Lakers don’t have the kind of trade assets that would entice the Minnesota Timberwolves to make a deal, but Love could let it be known that he only wants to sign with Los Angeles.

If Love does make his intentions to sign with the Lakers be known, it’ll make it extremely difficult for the Timberwolves to make a deal with any team other the Lakers.

With the Kings willing to make a deal regardless of Love’s intentions, Sacramento could turn out to be the favorite to land Love in a trade unless other teams interested do the same. The Golden State Warriors and Chicago Bulls are also rumored to be interested in a deal for Love along with the Wizards, Lakers, and Kings.
