The Los Angeles Lakers have had a very busy summer and it appears as though the front office is still ready to make more moves. The Lakers have already acquired Steve Nash and Antawn Jamison, and it looks like one more name can be added to that list.

Los Angeles has struggled from the three-point line in the past several seasons, but it did help that issue by trading for Nash. However, one player cannot do all the work, and thus the Lakers are looking for more help. According to sources, the Los Angeles Lakers are interested in adding Jodie Meeks. The two sides have been talking and the former Sixer would make a nice addition to the team.

Meeks is a great shooter and he will help space the floor for the Lakers. With such a deadly shooter like Meeks on the floor, players like Andrew Bynum and Pau Gasol will have more space to operate.

Adding someone like Meeks would also make the lives of Nash and Kobe Bryant much easier. Nash would have another teammate he can pass to and Kobe would have a player he could rely on in clutch situations. Every championship team needs a three-point specialist on the floor, and Meeks can be that type of player for Los Angeles.

Meeks has played three seasons in the NBA and he is an average 37 percent shooter from the three-point arc and 88 percent from the free-throw line. Two seasons ago, Meeks shot almost 40 percent from the arc and Los Angels would surely appreciate a number close to such a high mark. The Lakers had one of the worst benches in the league last season, so Meeks would surely help strengthen that aspect of the team.
