While the Timberwolves were not planning on trading Love, recent reports have surfaced that they are looking at trade scenarios as the All-Star will likely not sign an extension.

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports, a deal is unlikely for Minnesota until they hire a new coach after Rick Adelman’s retirement:

The Timberwolves are hoping the new coach will persuade Love to stay with a new vision and direction, but he still wants out according to Wojnarowski:

Even with a new coach, it appears Love still won’t sign a new extension with the franchise. Since arriving in Minnesota, the forward has gone through numerous coaches and has failed to make the playoffs in his career.

For the Lakers, the franchise is looking to rebound from their worst record since moving to Los Angeles. The team has been linked to Love throughout the season and will make a “monster push” for him using the seventh pick in the 2014 NBA Draft.
