There have been a lot of rumors flying with the NBA’s trade deadline coming up on Thursday. The Los Angeles Lakers have been linked with Phoenix Suns point guard Goran Dragic, but there could be another point guard available as well.

According to Ken Berger of CBS Sports, some teams believe the Oklahoma City Thunder could trade Reggie Jackson before the deadline:

Rival teams expect the Thunder to ultimately move Reggie Jackson before the deadline, a move that would help them step out of the luxury tax this season and help them stay out of the tax in future years.

There is no word on whether the Thunder are actively shopping him or if teams are calling to gauge interest, but Jackson remains a very intriguing possibility for any team that could acquire him. Jackson’s minutes have decreased since the Thunder acquired Dion Waiters and he has spoken about his desire to be a starting point guard in the NBA.

Much like Dragic, Jackson will be a free agent after the season, but will be restricted which gives whichever team has him the ability to match any offer Jackson receives. The Thunder are known as a team that does not like to pay the luxury tax and Jackson could command an eight figure deal in free agency which would put them over that mark.

The Los Angeles Lakers are a team that has a need at point guard and have been mentioned as a possible destination for Jackson in the past. Dragic is the name that continually comes up in regards to the Lakers, but Jackson could be an interesting possibility if that doesn’t work out.
