The Los Angeles Lakers are headed to the NBA Summer League quarterfinals after their 94-83 win over the Cleveland Cavaliers, behind a second triple double from Lonzo Ball. Ball scored 16 points, 12 assists and 10 rebounds to go along with five assists and two blocks on Thursday night.
Ball said it took a couple games for him to get his wind back, admitting that he felt fatigued after his first couple games. Kyle Kuzma was the Lakers leading scorer with 20 points (7-14), while Vander Blue contributed 18.
After the game, head coach Jud Buechler explained how much of what they’re running is a byproduct of implementing Luke Walton’s system and how much of it is simply Lonzo being Lonzo. Plus, Alex Caruso chats about what it was like to get that two-way contract.
And, since Ball’s shoes have been such a topic of conversation, we ask him what his inspiration was for going with James Harden’s Adidas. It’s all in our videos below.
