Lonzo Ball Struggles In Debut, Brandon Ingram Stands Above The Rest
The Los Angeles Lakers started off hot with the hype surrounding Lonzo Ball and the rookies’ debut, but ultimately fell to the Clippers in overtime 96-93. Ball looked good pushing the tempo and getting his teammates solid looks, but struggled to hit shots, hitting just 2-15 from the field and 1-11 from three-point range.

Brandon Ingram led all scorers with 26 points, before a leg cramp had him sitting on the sidelines (for precaution) for the entirety of overtime. He was noticeably more vocal, confident and aggressive throughout, harping on his teammates to get in their correct defensive schemes.

Rookie Thomas Bryant displayed the most energy out of anyone on the floor, and all of his teammates, including summer league head coach Jud Buechler noticed. However, second-year center Ivica Zubac struggled in the Lakers first summer league game, most especially on the defensive end, something that Ingram was consistently harping on.

Ingram’s leadership also emerged as an immediate theme after the Lakers first game, leading Buechler, once again, to give the 19-year-old ownership over the summer league sqaud. There’s plenty more in all of our videos below. Check them out!
