The Los Angeles Lakers had a rough night in the valley of the sun and just could not contain the three explosive guards that Phoenix has. Although the Lakers kept the game close, the Suns were able to hold off the Lakers and eventually won by 15, 115-100.

Nick Young had a solid outing off the bench and it was nice seeing him have another efficient night shooting the ball. Young had 24 points on 7-of-12 shooting from the field and connected on six of his seven attempts from the line. After the game, a jovial Young spoke to the media and talked about how inspired he was after Kobe’s career-high 17 assists against the Cavs, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

Young averages only one assist per game in 2014-15 and has a total of just 33 on the season. The guard is not known as a playmaker around the league, but his ability to create his own shot makes up for his lack of assist numbers.

Kobe sat out the game against the Suns as part of the Lakers’ plan of preserving the health of the five-time champion. Even though the lure of the team is certainly lessened when Bryant doesn’t plan, Young is definitely an entertaining player for fans both on and off the court.
