This season is expected to be the beginning of a turnaround for the Los Angeles Lakers. After one of the worst seasons in franchise history, the Lakers were major players in the draft, taking power forward Julius Randle seventh overall, and trading into the second round to draft point guard Jordan Clarkson.

Both had impressive moments during the summer league, and have been working out at the Lakers training facility with the rest of the team. In an interview with Lakers reporter Mike Trudell, Nick Young revealed that he has been impressed with the two young players:

I was shocked the way Julius could handle the ball like that and he’s got a little ups, he can jump a little bit. And especially Jordan, he can put that thing in the hole and to be his height and be a point guard it’s gonna be tough for defenders.

The development of these two players will play a huge role in the future of the Lakers. Randle has tons of potential, and Clarkson proving to be an excellent point guard could help solve an issue the Lakers have had for years.

It has been a long time since the Lakers have had a big-time rookie to look forward to, let alone two. The Lakers will soon be turning the page into the post-Kobe era and both Randle and Clarkson could be major parts of this.

But before they make any impact on the court, both rookies better make sure to call Nick Young whatever he tells them to.
