Over the past month or so, Nick Young has struggled with his shot. The Los Angeles Lakers sixth man has never seen a shot that he didn’t like and will continue to shoot, but lately his biggest strength on offense has turned out to be his biggest weakness.

After the loss to the Utah Jazz on Friday night, Young talked to the media about his recent shooting slump and said the following about how he’s dealing with it, via Lakers Nation reporter Serena Winters:

On Friday night, Young was able to get going offensively finishing with 23 points on 4-of-9 shooting. Young got most of his points from the charity stripe, going a perfect 13-for-13 from the line.

With Kobe Bryant on the shelf due to the fact it was the second game of a back-to-back situation, Young was expected to be the player the team would lean on. Although Young finished with a team-high 23 points, it wasn’t enough to get the best of Gordon Hayward and company on the road.

Fortunately, the Lakers will have two days off before getting back to work against the division rival Phoenix Suns on Monday night. Kobe will likely be back on the floor for the Lakers as they try to snap their four-game winning streak at the US Airways Center.
