If you haven’t been following the NBA for very long you might think of NBA Hall of Famer, Pat Riley, as someone only associated with the Miami Heat. He coached the Heat to their first NBA title ever and as Heat president helped assemble what is now known as the Big Three of LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. But, longtime Lakers fans know that before all of that, Riley goes down as one of the greatest Lakers coaches ever. And, since this is Lakers Nation, we are going to take a look back at the top Riley moments in Lakers history.

From Riley’s playing days to his coaching and broadcasting days to unforgettable fashion statements, this Hall of Famer has plenty of moments in purple and gold. Remember when Jerry West and Riley were named co-head coaches by Dr. Jerry Buss? What about when the Lakers lost to the Celtics in the 1984 Finals, but came back for the championship against the Celtics in 1985? What about Showtime? Enough said.

Riley goes down as a Laker legend from the development of Showtime to forcing coaches everywhere to dress a heck of a lot nicer. He even had his own video game on Sega Genesis called Pat Riley Basketball. All in all a pretty impressive resume. Check it all out above in our Lakers Nation top five.
