In what is turning out to be a very monstrous trade, it appears that months of speculation have finally ended as Carmelo Anthony is reportedly no longer a member of the Denver Nuggets. All that is left is for Anthony to approve the trade and he will head east to play for the New Jersey Nets.

If the deal does go through the rosters of both teams will be very different in the second half of the season. The proposed trade will send Anthony, Chauncey Billups, Sheldon Williams, Melvin Ely, and Renaldo Balkman to New Jersey. The Nets would then ship Derrick Favors, Devin Harris, Ben Uzoh, Troy Murphy, and four first round draft picks to the Nuggets.

WIth the deal in place all that needs to happen to complete the deal is for Anthony to sign a contract extension with the Nets. While he has stated in the past that he is unwilling to do so, New Jersey is confident they can work out a deal with the All-Star forward. If the deal is completed, it will change the balance of power in both conferences for the next several years, and puts a serious damper on the New York Knicks hopes of becoming an elite franchise next season.
