Report: Lakers Unsure About Nash, Looking For Point Guard Options

The Lakers, after their loss against Cleveland, have now lost three straight games overall and five of their last six. They now stand at 9-13.

They have so many problems on the court right now and one of them has to do with their point guard play. Chris Duhon and Darius Morris have done admirable jobs but they’re just not getting the job done (Duhon has played decently as of late while Morris has been relegated to the bench after poor play).

The latest report has Steve Nash out for the next two weeks, but, according to ESPN L.A., the Lakers can’t wait anymore as they continue to lose games. They need help, pronto. Here’s Ramona Shelburne with the latest.

If they want to add another point guard to the roster, the Lakers are going to have to cut somebody as they have the full 15-man roster.

Delonte West’s name has been thrown around a few times in rumorville ever since he was cut by Dallas before the season. There’s no denying his talent; West is a starting-caliber combo guard. His bout with bipolar disorder has made him a volatile personality, which is why teams have shied away from him. West also has trouble staying healthy; he’s only played more than 70 games in a season once in his career.

Eddie House was also mentioned by Shelburne. He has made it no secret that he wants to get back in the league. The last time he played was in the 2010-11 season when he was part of the Miami Heat. House is known for his scoring so he can help in that department. He’s also 34 years-old so who knows how much he has left in the tank?

There are other options like Mike Bibby (who also wants to return), Jonny Flynn (who is currently playing in Australia), and Mike James (who last played in Chicago last season). Marc Stein from ESPN had also mentioned that Jose Calderon is who the Lakers want but the Raptors want to put him in a bigger deal.

But it’s gotten to this point for the Lakers; help can’t come soon enough for them. And at 9-13, they need all the help they can get.
