Lakers News: Lamar Odom ‘Opened His Eyes’ And Communicated At Hospital

Before the Los Angeles Lakers took on the Sacramento Kings earlier this week in Las Vegas, the franchise and fans received heartbreaking news regarding Lamar Odom. The two-time champion was found unconscious at a brothel and is reportedly in a coma.

While there are conflicting reports, Martin Rogers of USA TODAY Sports shares Odom opened his eyes and was able to communicate on Friday morning according to a source:

Lamar Odom opened his eyes and was able to communicate on Friday morning, a person at the hospital where he remained in intensive care told USA TODAY Sports.

According to Ramona Shelburne of ESPN, Odom is conscious and breathing on his own:

Since the news, the NBA family and media has come together to show their support and pray for Odom. It has also been reported Kobe Bryant and general manager Mitch Kupchak immediately visited him following the Lakers-Kings game.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Odom and his family.
