Steve Nash

The Lakers’ injury problems have been talked about ad nauseam this season, as they have never let up despite the Lakers barely having any healthy players left. Finally things are turning around for the Lakers as they will welcome back all three of their original point guards from this season.

Steve Nash and Steve Blake will both start and Jordan Farmar will be available off the bench for the Lakers. The returns couldn’t have come at a better time as the Lakers have lost leading scorer, Pau Gasol for at least a week.

What will be interesting is what these returns mean for the Lakers’ rotation. Kendall Marshall has been excellent and would rank second in the NBA in assists if he could qualify. Jodie Meeks is the team’s third leading scorer and is coming off a month in which he scored in double figures in every game.

Gasol’s injury also comes at a tough time as the trade deadline approaches. Gasol is once again linked in a number of rumors, most recently being connected to the Phoenix Suns. This injury is bound to cause some concern for them about trading for the big man.
