Steve Nash jpgThe Los Angeles Lakers lost their opening game of the 2013 Playoffs on Sunday to the San Antonio Spurs, putting the team one step closer to being eliminated.

The Lakers will be without Kobe Bryant for the entirety of the postseason, but they did get Steve Nash back into the lineup in Game 1.

However, after missing three weeks due to a hamstring injury, Nash is still not in basketball form. Nash spoke to the Daily News, and he talked about the struggles he faced in his first game back.

“I’m not myself. I’m not moving that well,” Nash said. “I was struggling a little bit. There were a few shots I would normally make.”

The Lakers need Nash to be an effective player if they want to complete the upset and win the series. In Game 1, Nash scored 16 points but had to do it on 15 shots and recorded just three assists.

Overall, the Lakers did not play a very good game, and there needs to be major adjustments moving forward. The team did have stretches of solid basketball, but they must execute on both ends of the court in order to beat the Spurs. The Lakers’ stars must have a dominate performances, and a lot of that is riding on Nash’s shoulders.
