Despite No. 1 pick Ben Simmons and No. 2 pick Brandon Ingram going head to head in the Los Angeles Lakers summer league game against the Philadelphia 76ers, it was D’Angelo Russell with his game-winning three-point buzzer-beater to steal the show. After a slow and sloppy start (the Lakers shot just 23% from the field and turned the ball over 13 times in the first half), things got interesting in the fourth quarter as a T.J. McConnell layup (following a Russell jumper to tie) put the 76ers ahead by two points. Then, with just 1.8 seconds on the clock, Brandon Ingram inbounded to Russell who nailed the three-pointer for the win, and the crowd went crazy.
After the game, Russell’s teammates all react to his game-winner. Plus, Ingram talks about his slow start to his second summer league game and whether he felt added pressure knowing that all eyes were going to be on him and Simmons.
