Summer League Videos: D’angelo Russell Game-winning Buzzer Beater

D'Angelo Russell Hits Buzzer Beater Game-Winner, Teammates React!

Despite No. 1 pick Ben Simmons and No. 2 pick Brandon Ingram going head to head in the Los Angeles Lakers summer league game against the Philadelphia 76ers, it was D’Angelo Russell with his game-winning three-point buzzer-beater to steal the show. After a slow and sloppy start (the Lakers shot just 23% from the field and turned the ball over 13 times in the first half), things got interesting in the fourth quarter as a T.J. McConnell layup (following a Russell jumper to tie) put the 76ers ahead by two points. Then, with just 1.8 seconds on the clock, Brandon Ingram inbounded to Russell who nailed the three-pointer for the win, and the crowd went crazy.

After the game, Russell’s teammates all react to his game-winner. Plus, Ingram talks about his slow start to his second summer league game and whether he felt added pressure knowing that all eyes were going to be on him and Simmons.

Fan favorite Ivica Zubac makes light of getting dunked on by 76ers Jerami Grant and Larry Nance, Jr. says he felt a little like Kobe Bryant after the insane amount of fans chanting his name tonight. Head coach Jesse Mermuys also discusses what more he wants to see from Russell and how the coaching staff is pushing him to be better. Watch all the post-game interviews below.
