The Los Angeles Lakers will get a glimpse of their future this weekend. D’Angelo Russell and rookie Brandon Ingram will lead the Lakers’ Summer League squad in Las Vegas with a must-see matchup on Saturday against Ben Simmons and the Philadelphia 76ers.

With everyone going crazy over Kevin Durant agreeing to sign with the Golden State Warriors, Ingram just wants to get his playlist ready for Summer League. Ingram took to Twitter on July 4th to show his mind is solely focused on getting ready for his debut playing alongside Russell and company:

Ingram will have the opportunity to put his skills on display in Las Vegas with the Lakers guaranteed to play at least five games. The Duke product will likely be the focal point of the offense at small forward while Russell runs the show at the point guard position.

The Lakers will face Buddy Hield and the New Orleans Pelicans in their Summer League opener on July 8th at the Thomas & Mace Center. Brandon Ingram and company will then go head-to-head against Simmons’ 76ers squad on Saturday followed by a matchup with the Warriors on Monday.

Although Russell, Larry Nance Jr., and Anthony Brown are returning for a second tour in the Summer League, two prominent names are not on the team’s roster. Jordan Clarkson and Julius Randle played in Summer League the last two years after getting drafted in 2014 and will not participate this time around.

Other notable additions to the Summer League roster include rookie Ivica Zubac, Zach Auguste, and Jabari Brown.
