Los Angeles Lakers forward Ed Davis has been one of the bright spots to this dismal Lakers season. Selected by the Toronto Raptors with the 13th pick in the 2010 NBA draft, Davis also played for the Memphis Grizzlies before the Lakers acquired the free agent this off-season for a two-year, $2 million deal.

Davis has since flourished in his role off the bench, leading the second unit in scoring in five of his six games with the Lakers while hitting double figure in all five games. Plus, Davis has been a solid presence defensively, an area where the Lakers could definitely use some help.

At Lakers practice on Monday, Davis was asked what was missing the last couple years while he was in Memphis:

Opportunity, 100 percent. It’s a lot of motivation going back there (Memphis) because they gave up on me. It is a team that I definitely want to get a win against.”

In his last game, Davis was a perfect 5-5 from the field, upping his field goal percentage to 71 percent (27-38) on the year. Check out what Davis had to say after the Lakers first win of the year and that hilarious tweet he sent to Charles Barkley.
