Here are some highlights from our quick interview with Marcus Landry at Lakers media day.

Serena Winters: How does it feel to be in this building on media day?

Marcus Landry: It feels great to be a part of this organization, a great organization that has a lot of memories and history of winning and things like that, and a championship so it feels great.

SW: Talk about growing up with Carl and playing with your brother. Do you get a lot of “your Marcus” so people come around saying “how’s your brother doing?”

ML: Of course, but you know that just comes with the territory and we’re very close so I don’t mind it at all.

SW: If you were going to say a little bit about yourself to Lakers fans out there what would you say?

ML: Off the court I’m a family guy, Christian man, a man of God. I just love basketball you know. I love basketball, I love my family, I love to win, I don’t accept losing so that’s kind of me.

SW: Are you excited to be around Chris Kaman who, by the way, loves to hunt?

ML: Of course, I grew up in Wisconsin. That’s not quite the country, but I am a country boy so I can definitely hang out with him and we can go hunting and fishing. I love all that stuff so yeah.

SW: What’s one thing you think you can bring to this Lakers team that’s not there already?

ML: Just some energy, you know, another guy with a winning mentality that loves to win. That’s me, and hopefully I can bring that to this team and some great defense and really get after everything.
