Last year, Time Warner Cable partnered up with the Lakers for a 20-year, multi-billion dollar agreement, covering all non-nationally televised preseason, regular season and postseason games.

“We couldn’t be more thrilled to be partners with Time Warner Cable,” Jeanie Buss said at the Vibiania. “This season is exactly what Dr. Buss wanted for the fans, was a chance for the fans to get closer to the team that they’ve ever been before.”

Jeanie strolled in alongside her fiance, Phil Jackson, who talked to reporters about his current unofficial role with the Lakers, which Lakers GM Mitch Kupchak described as a “consultant of sorts.”

Before the ceremony, Jeanie also joked around about the story that recently came out about Jack Nicholson having Maria Menounos and Dane Cook kicked out from their courtside seats after showing up in Celtics jerseys. Menounos said she heard that Nicholson called Dr. Buss to have them removed. While Jeanie couldn’t confirm that exact story to Lakers Nation, she did say that when Phil was coaching, he had a similar run in with Mark Wahlberg.

“I do know that Phil, when Mark Wahlberg sat next to the Lakers bench in his Celtics jersey, that he had a few words for him. Lakers fans are the best.”
