The Lakers second unit, spearheaded by Jeremy Lin, Carlos Boozer and Nick Young, once again outscored their opponent’s reserves (46-21) in the Lakers loss to the Portland Trail Blazers Sunday night. It was the 26th time this season the Lakers reserves outscored (or equaled) their opponent’s reserves.

After the game, Jeremy Lin talked about the chemistry of the second unit coming together.

I think we’ve been able to do some good things in the last few games. Ball has been moving and we’ve been playing a free and fun style.”

Lin also talked about Carlos Boozer learning the value of “rolling” off screens, rather than just “popping,” which has been crucial in getting him open shot opportunities.

Additionally, Lin says he’s not worried about Nick Young’s shooting slump, though he said the second unit was definitely trying to get him going. Lin’s confident that with all the work Young’s been putting in, his shots will follow.
