Kentucky’s Karl-Anthony Towns is considered by most to be the top prospect in this year’s NBA Draft. Recent clips of his workouts have both scouts and fans salivating at the chance to draft him. Owning the second pick in the draft, the Los Angeles Lakers have a good chance to add him, especially considering Flip Saunders’ reported infatuation with Duke’s Jahlil Okafor.

Towns has been training in Los Angeles in preparation for the draft and TMZ Sports caught him meeting with current Laker and fellow Kentucky player, Julius Randle for lunch. Towns insisted that the lunch was not a recruiting effort, but simply two former Wildcats catching up:

Towns did, however, have some kind words for Kobe Bryant, calling him a ‘legend’ and saying he would love to play with him. Towns also expressed no fear of Kobe’s demanding ways, saying that’s what it takes ‘to win a championship.’

At 6’11 and 250 pounds, Towns can play both power forward and center. He is comfortable both on the post and perimeter and is an excellent defender. He averaged 10.1 points, 6.7 rebounds, and 2.2 blocks as a freshman with Kentucky last season.
