The Lakers have been struggling this year, but they also started rough last season. The Lakers entered the 2012-13 season with high expectations. They added Steve Nash and Dwight Howard in the off-season and were primed for another championship run. However, things did not go as planned and the Lakers had a losing record early on in the season.

As All-Star weekend was approaching, the Lakers had won five out of six games and were in Brooklyn to take on the Nets. The game was close throughout, but with a little less than three minutes left in the fourth quarter and the game tied at 80 apiece, Kobe Bryant took matters into his own hands.

Bryant was well beyond the three point line and was being guarded by veteran defender, Gerald Wallace. Bryant used the stutter step and drove down the middle of the lane. Wallace was by his side and Kris Humphries saw Bryant approaching the rim and went up high for the block. Bryant shocked the entire arena when he attacked the basket and finished with an emphatic dunk.

Both Wallace and Humphries became part of Bryant’s poster and the dunk was easily one of the best of the year. The dunk would give the Lakers a two point lead and they would go on to grab a 92-83 victory. Bryant’s dunk on Wallace and Humphries was the dagger and a reminder that Bryant could still deliver some amazing slam dunks.
