After Kobe Bryant’s debut in a loss to the Toronto Raptors on Sunday, a game in which he graded his performance with an “F,” the Lakers star guard felt like he could still lose a few pounds. Kobe said going into the game on Sunday night, he was happy with his weight at 225 pounds and eight percent body fat, but during the game, he realized he needed to be a bit lighter.

In his second night back of game action, after a loss to the Phoenix Suns Tuesday night, Bryant said he actually dropped five pounds after Sunday’s game, and joked that his wife, Vanessa Bryant, hated him for being able to lose so much weight in a matter of hours.

“I was 225 going into the first game, and that night after the game I was 220. Vanessa [expletive] hates me!”

Despite dropping the five pounds after Sunday’s game, Bryant likely gained a couple back and is still looking to drop a few more to reach the weight he desires. Bryant was using boxing analogies after Monday’s practice to describe his recovery and return, and dropping five pounds in a day surely fits in with that theme!
