When the media was let in to watch some of the Los Angeles Lakers five-on-five scrimmaging on Thursday morning, talk of Kobe Bryant being out on the practice floor, engaging in some serious trash-talk, made headlines.

Bryant scrimmaging at practice with his teammates this season has become a rarity, now that he’s morphed practice days into rest, treatment and getting his 36-year-old body prepared for the rigors of an NBA game.

With all these days off, Bryant’s come up with some pretty good one-liners, “We’re soft like Charmin,” being one of them. Some have used Bryant’s trash-talk on Thursday as an example of him snapping at practice or finally blowing up on the team, but Bryant’s trash-talk at practice is nothing unusual. Apparently, Young was the instigator. During their scrimmage, Young declared that no one could guard him one-on-one.

I think Nick probably regrets getting me started, at the start of practice,” Bryant joked to reporters.

In our video above, get an inside look into what practice is like when Bryant’s out on the floor scrimmaging. Plus, watch head coach Byron Scott talking about the intensity of practice when Bryant’s on the floor. Is there any worry that practices aren’t as intense when he’s not around, seeing that Bryant is using most practice days for rest and treatment?

And, what does Nick Young have to say about all the trash-talk and wanting Bryant to be able to make it out to practice more often? It’s all in our video above.
