VIDEO: Kobe On Similarities And Differences With Michael Jordan

As Kobe Bryant approaches third on the NBA’s all-time scoring list, the talk of him passing Michael Jordan continues. Before the Los Angeles Lakers hopped on a plane to San Antonio Thursday afternoon, Bryant once again addressed what he believes to be the similarities and differences between himself and Michael Jordan.

Similarities:

“I think we’re both cursed with the obsession of trying to be the best that we can. It’s a blessing and a curse at the same time.”

Differences:

“That I’ve had to be a point guard and shooting guard. I say all the time that I was always very jealous of him having Scottie Pippen. It’s much more frustrating for a natural scorer to try to wear both hats. I think in our game, in our development, I’ve had to play more of a point guard role, particularly in those first three championships with Shaq, which just isn’t a natural thing for me.”

In our video above, Bryant talks about how honored he feels to be in the position he’s in, though he says it was never a goal that he set out to accomplish. Bryant also says that “probably the coolest thing” for him is playing for a team that was his favorite growing up.

Bryant also discussed Michael Jordan after the Lakers game against the Sacramento Kings, for that see our video below.
