Lakers Guard Jordan Farmar Visits Kids With Cancer At UCLA Medical Center

Lakers guard Jordan Farmar took a special visit to the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica to spend time with kids in the pediatric unit. Most of the kids have some form of cancer and have been undergoing chemotherapy treatments. Farmar stopped by to chat with kids, sign autographs and pass out Lakers goodies.

Farmar’s first stop was with 10-year-old, Jasmine, who made him two Lakers posters, which were taped to her door. Jasmine has been undergoing chemotherapy treatments for Rhabdomyosarcoma. As her time with Farmar got more comfortable, she opened up to him that she would be finishing her last set of chemotherapy treatments.

Farmar also visited with freshly 21-year-old, Ashlee, who has been battling Osteosarcoma bone cancer. She told Farmar that she had just had another biopsy earlier that morning and was hopeful that she wouldn’t have a recurrence of the cancer. Ashlee hasn’t been able to celebrate her 21st birthday. All smiles, she told Farmar that she couldn’t wait to make it out to the club!

Farmar also visited with a young boy, Ryan, but only through the glass window, as Ryan was in an airborne isolation room to be protected from infection. The moments shared in the video above will touch your hearts. Such a small gesture truly brings a smile to the faces of kids who weren’t dealt a fair hand at the adolescent stages of their innocent lives.
