In the Los Angeles Lakers’ game against the Minnesota Timberwolves, Kobe Bryant made NBA history by moving into third on the all-time scoring list, passing Michael Jordan with a pair of free throws in the second quarter of the Lakers victory.

After the milestone, the game was stopped as the Timberwolves honored Bryant. Tonight, however, was the Lakers’ first home game since the record and before the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, the Lakers honored Bryant themselves.

The team showed a video package that featured comments from fellow Laker legend Magic Johnson as well as highlights of the free throw that moved him past Jordan. After the package aired, Bryant’s family came on the floor to congratulate him.

It was a nice, quick ceremony for the Lakers to argue arguably the greatest player in the team’s history for such a major accomplishment.
