The Los Angeles Lakers introduced No. 2 draft pick Brandon Ingram at the Lakers practice facility on Tuesday shortly after suiting up for his first practice with the rest of the Summer League squad. In an interview with LakersNation.com, Ingram reminisces about the early days of running drills with AAU coach Jerry Stackhouse, having no idea that he would make it to the NBA this soon.
After just one year at Duke University, the young small forward talks about how much he was able to take away from legendary Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski and how difficult it was to leave his teammates. Ingram even goes into detail about a special class at Duke that has, in a way, helped prepare him for the spotlight of Los Angeles.
Plus, what was his first practice like alongside D’Angelo Russell and what are his impressions of his new head coach, Luke Walton? It’s all in our video above.
